An East Coast End of Summer Catch-up with Bankhouse Catering Company East Lothian
The Scottish Summer has nearly come and gone, and at Bankhouse Catering we have all had an exceptionally busy and wonderful season catering East Lothian and further afield. Our events have ranged from providing wedding catering scenic beach weddings – during our sensational Scottish weather in Mid-Summer – to our private events held in your own homes, which give our clients and customers the chance to experience Bankhouse Catering packages without even taking a step over your front door.
The goal for our company year after year is to be an exceptional caterer in East Lothian, The Scottish Borders etc and complement your occasion, to handle events from start to finish to leave our customers refreshed, full and wanting to relive their event over and over again. Our staff have been put through their paces this season, and we have made sure to work as a team to ensure Bankhouse Catering events have been executed to the highest standard – from the initial relationship being established between David, our Managing Director and our customers to the end of the events.
We thought we would let you have a look at our team’s efforts this season throughout The Scottish Borders and The Lothians…
An event our team always looks forward to is The Berwick Borders Bash Scooter Rally which is held annually on the first Bank Holiday in May at Paxton House in Berwickshire. We have been the full catering providers including food, hot drink facilities and a fully functioning bar for several years. We have learned to perform highly as a team at this event and it is always the highlight that kicks off our Summer here at Bankhouse. This event is an example of the portable and adaptable catering equipment we have access to and our willingness to work in challenging conditions to meet our customer’s event needs.

In April the Bankhouse team were put to the test during a 10-day project for a large multinational corporation that was dismantling and refurbishing Livingstone South Railway Station. This operation was a 24-hour endeavour for all teams involved. With no reservations about serving such a large team of 250 people per day due to previous experience, Bankhouse Catering provided full catering and hot and cold drinks facilities for day and night shifts. On the 3rd day of the project Scotland – in true Scottish fashion – experienced 4 inches of snow, in April. The team here at Bankhouse saw this as an opportunity and continued to work in these challenging conditions to schedule. Our field kitchen, marquee and dining room provided a comfortable set up for the teams involved.
A project Bankhouse has been a part of for the past 3 years is the construction of a £177m Energy Recovery Facility Interserve in Dunbar, East Lothian. Currently, the biomass incinerator is on trial and this was our first endeavour working hand in hand with civil
engineering companies. We have worked with this multinational corporation for the duration of the construction of the ERF providing a full staff canteen for 700 people initially, 24hr a day security and cleaning services. We have waved goodbye to many European friends as the project nears its completion and we still serve 200 people each day. This has been a massive project which displays Bankhouse Catering’s experience and ability to work on any size of project from 20 people to 700.
